For a Sri Lankan family living overseas, this Wattala home was designed to feel international, minimalist, and timeless. The goal was a modern villa that balances privacy from the street with bright, open interiors.
Clean white walls, black cladding, sharp lines, and generous glazing give the home a sculptural, contemporary look. Inside, the ground floor features an open-plan living and dining area that connects to the garden through floor-to-ceiling glass doors, filling the space with natural light. A guest bedroom with a full bathroom and a dedicated storage/mechanical room add practicality, while the covered carport blends seamlessly into the architecture.
Upstairs, three bedrooms and a TV lobby form a comfortable private zone. The master suite is designed as a peaceful retreat with picture windows framing greenery. Minimal details highlight light, space, and proportion—creating a modern home that feels globally inspired yet perfectly suited to Sri Lanka’s tropical climate.
